ABOUT DR AMY CHAMBERS FRACGP MBBS DCH

Dr Amy Chambers completed her medical degree at Monash University in 2008. Amy worked her first two years after graduating in Bendigo before moving to Brisbane to complete her General Practice training, successfully attaining her fellowship in 2015.

Amy is interested in all aspects of family medicine. She has undergone further qualifications in paediatrics, family planning, women’s health and pregnancy care. Amy is aligned to both the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and Mater Mothers Hospital to offer shared antenatal care.

In practice, Amy takes a holistic approach to providing comprehensive care and treatment. She is thorough yet sensitive and responsive to her patients’ needs. She particularly enjoys being part of her patients’ journey and assisting them in all stages of their lives.

Recently becoming a mother herself in 2022, Amy works part time and has an appreciation and understanding of the trials of parenthood, and brings this knowledge and experience to better care for her patients.


Scope of practice:

  • Paediatric Care including developmental checks, immunisations, breastfeeding and parenting support
  • Family planning including contraceptive advice, insertion and removal of Implanon and Mirena removal
  • Womens Health including cervical screening, menstrual support, fertility, perimenopause and menopause management
  • Antenatal care through shared care model with RBWH and mater mothers hospitals
  • General Family Medicine annual checks, chronic disease management, skin checks, mental health care plans and chronic disease management plans.

 Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) Monash University

Diploma in Child Health (DCH), The Children’s Hospital at Westmead

Sexual Health and Family Planning Australia Certificate in Sexual and Reproductive health

Standard Consultation (15 min):  $92    (Rebate $41.40)
Long Consultation (30 min):   $184  (Rebate $80.10)
Prolonged Consultation (45 min):   $276   (Rebate $118.00)
1 Hour Appointment (60 min)$348 (Rebate $191.20)

When booking your consultation please consider the complexity of your presenting concerns and book an appropriate appointment length. If your appointment runs slightly over time you may be charged a higher fee but often the out of pocket cost will remain the same. Consultations regarding chronic conditions, mental health or multiple concerns will require a longer consultation and follow up. The above list is not exhaustive and other fees may apply such as ECG, spirometry, procedures, mental health care plans and chronic disease plans. Please discuss this at the time of booking.

All new patients will need to pay for their booking in advance. In the event of a no show the fee will be forfeited.
